A vila jardim
To visit Ponte de Lima without paying attention to its gardens is not to know one of the most beautiful images of this Minho village. Awarded with three victories in the National Contest of Towns and Flowering Cities, it also won two international awards, a bronze medal and another silver, in the Contest of the Most Flowered Towns and Cities in Europe (1999 and 2000).

Description
Follow the Jardins route and cross the Lima River. On the right bank you will find two major projects: Parque do Arnado and the International Gardens Festival. The first was born inside the Arnado farm and some farm structures were maintained there. On the other hand, the project contemplated the history of gardens over time, a greenhouse and a leisure area. Enjoy the shadows of the vines installed in the branches!
From here, take the ecovia along the river to the International Garden Festival in Ponte de Lima, a space where art and garden merge and which can be visited annually from May to October.
Innovation has already led to the distinction, "being recognized as the Festival of the Year 2013 within the scope of the Garden Tourism Awards, integrated in the international event" 2013 North American Garden Tourism Conference ”. In 2017, it also received the distinction "Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe" - EFFE Label 2017-2018 ”.
The Municipality of Ponte de Lima has been constantly investing so that the population feels the green spaces as their own and that was how the "Ponte de Lima - Gardens, Art and Innovation contest" was opened, open to all residents of the municipality. an initiative that consists of beautifying windows, balconies, commercial spaces and flower beds, seeking to encourage in Limianos an even greater taste for gardens and green spaces ”.
