Castro de Santo Estêvão is an excellent example of the Iron Age, preserving some visible houses, the result of archaeological interventions carried out in the late 70s, early 80s. time when the dwellings would not be stony.

The ceramic traces are unique, having appeared at the Castro level "attic" ceramics, denoting contacts with distant peoples. The village continued to be inhabited during Romanization and in the Middle Ages it was head of the Earth and Judge of Santo Estêvão de Riba Lima. the medieval period that its occupation will have fallen.
Interestingly, the chapel, dating from the 17th / 18th centuries, is dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Rocha, probably the result of the enormous cliff that is close to it. With a superb view over the entire valley of Facha, we invite you to enjoy the landscape.
