Description

Work of bastioned military architecture, whose first walls date back to an Iron Age settlement and that currently has a bastioned system, built in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The fortification is located at the top of two hills and is formed by two polygons: the Magistral (oldest) and the Crowned, separated by a moat, with false bragas.

10 bastions and 2 half bastions, 5 revelins, 5 repairs, 6 rednecks, 2 rearguards, 2 cover faces, 1 tenalha, 34 guardhouses, 214 gunboats, 6 forts, 3 poternas, 2 storerooms, 10 casemates, are some of the elements of the bastioned military architecture that is projected and it is possible to appreciate in this fortification.
