The so-called Capela das Malheiras (alluding to the owner family - the Malheiro Reimão), is one of the most beautiful examples of Portuguese rococo architecture, built by D. António do Desterro (Malheiro), at the time Bishop of Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to the elegant façade, for some authors, the work of Nicolau Nasoni or his school, this Chapel features a remarkable altarpiece in polychrome carving, according to Robert Smith, one of the best examples of Minho carving in Rococo style.
