The Church of S. Domingos, which remains from the former convent of Santa Cruz founded by Dominican Friar Bartolomeu dos Mártires, the Archbishop, recently beatified by Pope John Paul II, famous for his participation in the Council of Trento, is a 16th century temple , built between 1566 and 1576, under the risk of the Dominican Frei Julião Romero, the same who had already designed the church of S. Gonçalo de Amarante.

In the interior you can admire several altars with beautiful gilded carving, with emphasis on the grand altarpiece of the north arm of the transept, in "carved fat", carved by the master from Braga José Alvares de Araújo, from the drawing commissioned by the brotherhood of Rosário, in 1760, to the master André Soares and who received from the prestigious specialist Robert Smith the classification of "masterpiece of the rocaille style of all Europe".
