The Medieval Days of the Douro portray the passage of King D. Sancho I through Canelas and the donation that he will have made to Bonamis and Accompanied, two jugels to which he will have commissioned an arremilho.

The document proving this donation is the oldest known testimony of theatrical manifestations in the Middle Ages in Portugal. This great medieval festival includes marketers, jugglers, dancers, jograis, nobles and even the victims of the plague in a historic recreation that includes great animation, games, theater, dance, music, as well as gastronomy and promotion of local products.
