19th century chapel XIX (1879) built at the expense of the Count of São Bento, replacing a small previous temple, dated 1766, in Honor of the Virgin of Sorrows.
Rua Padre Joaquim A Pedrosa 48, 4785-419
Trofa
It is a Latin cross-plan building, with a main facade facing southeast. In architectural terms it has some outstanding characteristics: on its main face there is a façade-tower where the square and slender volume of the bell tower can be seen; the spire, also slender, is covered with drops of black slate. Next to the chancel are the sacristy and the factory room, both with two floors with reduced ceilings.
The chapel is located in the park with the same name that stands out in the urban center of the city of Trofa. On the site, on the third Sunday of August, the feast of Nossa Senhora das Dores, known for the grandeur of its floors, is held.
