This perimeter reflects the size of this archaeological station, placing it among the largest in the Northwest Peninsular. It had several periods of occupation, from the end of the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, and it keeps material and architectural traces from them.
The occupation of this place during the Bronze Age is documented by polished and faired ceramics, axes in polished stone and flints in flint, being, for the moment, unknown traces of constructions from that period.
The most expressive visiting area corresponds to an intermediate platform, where, in addition to circular Castro structures, several architectural signs of Romanization were identified, namely domus-type houses, superimposed on the buildings of the Iron Age. From the period of medieval occupation, the ruins of the second church in Alvarelhos and graves from the same period are still visible in this space.
Free access to the archaeological site and the existence of an interpretive route allows visits without a guide on any day.
