At the west end of the parish of Santiago de Bougado, the Monte de São Gens de Cidai rises, at an altitude of 189 meters, on the edge of the Bougado Valley, from where you can see a considerable part of Baixo Ave, especially fragments of the municipalities of Trofa, Vila Nova de Famalicão and Santo Tirso, as well as the sea and the interior areas of the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim.
Santiago de Bougado
Trofa
On the site there is a staircase with via-sacra and the Chapel of São Gens, once abandoned chapel, which was rebuilt in the century. XX. Also curious about the particularity of finding phthalitic rocks in the place, reason for interest, study and visit for those interested in geology.
