Águeda
It is the region of the country where the great sparkling wine producers are concentrated. This includes the municipalities of Águeda, Anadia, Mealhada, Oliveira do Bairro, a large part of the municipality of Cantanhede and part of the municipalities of Coimbra, Aveiro and Vagos.
It was with the production of red wine that Bairrada started to be recognized as a wine region par excellence, however white wines have assumed, for over 100 years, an important role, mainly in the production of natural sparkling wines.
In Águeda, the tradition in wine production and trade is long, this tradition and quality is recognized at national and international level as a result of the different awards for wines produced in the municipality.
Today, a new dynamic appears, enhancing this region and the cultural and natural offer that differentiates Águeda in the theme of wine tourism.
