The new Estádio José Alvalade, from Sporting Clube de Portugal, built within the framework of EURO 2004, is inserted in a structure called Alvalade XXI.

Inaugurated on August 6, 2003, it has a project by the architect. Tomás Taveira, translating a bold and modern architecture, where yellow and green colors predominate. With a capacity for 52 thousand seats and the benches, with chairs in multiple colors all mixed, give the permanent illusion that there is always an immense crowd in the stadium. This multifunctional space includes, in addition to the stadium, services and companies of the Club, the sports complex, restaurants, cinemas, bowling, shopping area, a clinical center, a health club, the museum space of the Leon club, a residential area , among others.
