The municipality of Sabrosa is located on the right bank of the river Douro and is part of the list of places considered World Heritage by Unesco - the Alto Douro Vinhateiro.

The remains found in this territory show us that it has been inhabited continuously since the Neolithic period. We can find dozens of funerary structures from this period, the Mamas, we also have castles that refer to the Iron Age, and the paleocristan graves of the Middle Ages.

With the river Douro and its terraces where the vineyards predominate, the landscape that surrounds this county is magnificent and constitutes a poster that deserves to be seen.

Local gastronomy is characteristic of the Douro region, where roasted Cabrito with oven rice, Portuguese stew, meat ball, sponge cake, high-pitched cavaquinhas are the stars.
